Review: Lush Herbalism for Oily to Problem Skin

Review: Lush Herbalism for Oily to Problem Skin
Only Ilustrations
Herbalism from Lush is a cleanser for normal to oily skins. My skin has a tendency to overproduce oil especially on the t-zone, so after hearing raving reviews about this product I thought I would give it a try.

At first glance it looks very bright and green, but the smell is very soothing. I try to use natural products on my skin (if I can help it) so the fact that this contains 100% natural ingredients is definitely a plus.

It contains ground almonds and rice bran for gentle exfoliation and chloroplyllin for the benefits it provides to regenerate the skin (I believe this is where it gets the green colour?) Rose absolute, chamomile blue oil and sage oil are thrown in to help balance the skin. Kinda different to your normal cleanser right? Yep and that's what I like about it. It is suitable to use both day or night and I find this suits my skin much more than Angels on Bare Skin (Which I now only use once a week)

How to use

Take a pea sized amount and mix well with water then rub over your face. Leave on for around a minute then wash off with warm water. I sometimes like to mix this cleanser with my Simple face wash to help it spread well.

Pros

    Contains 100% natural ingredeints
    Makes cleansing much more fun
Clears your skin and controls oil
Not as expensive as other brands

Cons

    Doesn't remove makeup
    can be messy to use
    Short shelf life

I have been using herbalism for almost two months now and I have to say it has helped to keep my uncontrollable skin in check. I have fewer blackheads and spots. It has also helped to calm the redness and leave me with smooth and glowing skin. One pot lasts around 3 months, which is usually the sell by date for Herbalism anyway.

Conclusion

Although this doesn't remove makeup, that doesnt bother me. I like to throughly remove my makeup with a creamy cleanser then use herbalism for the 2nd step, which has helped my skin to stay in tip top condition.

where has the writing gone??

A negative I would say about the Lush packaging is that the writing on the label fades very easily after a few weeks making it difficult to know the sell by date. This I find very annoying and something which I think Lush should change.

If you have similar skin to mine then I think Herbalism will play a vital role in your skincare routine. Give it a go and I'm sure you will notice a difference x
